Projects Community Service ROMAC
The Club is among the many supporting a project managed by the Rotary Club of Fremantle City to build homes for victims of the Boxing Day tsunami in Sri Lanka.
Working with a Rotary club in Colombo and local charity, the program is providing not just the homes but also community facilities in a new village in a devastated area near Hikkaduwa in the Galle region. The Club has undertaken direct aid projects that have provided literacy (books and computers) and health assistance to communities in Asia and Africa.
The Club supports the ROMAC (Rotary Overseas Medical Aid to Children) program. ROMAC brings the gift of health and a full life to “the forgotten children”, those who have suffered disfiguring accidents or congenital conditions that cannot be helped in their home countries. More than 300 children have had their lives transformed by major and intricate surgery.
